Ensemble Zelenka
The Ensemble Zelenka was named after the great Bohemian composer Jan Dismas Zelenka, whose genius remained unrecognised for a long time. It consists of soloists from the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and lecturers from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève. The focus is on Zelenka's sonatas for oboes, bassoon and continuo, two of which form the framework of this programme. In between, a trio sonata by Johann Sebastian Bach, pieces from the “pièces de clavecin” by François Couperin, a sonata by Johann Friedrich Fasch and Beethoven's Variations for Wind Trio on an aria from Mozart's Don Giovanni will be played.
